About Us

What is Borak-Borak Floorball?

Borak-Borak Floorball (BBF) was initiated by a group of three avid floorballers from Penang, Malaysia. The interest sparked off due to a certain passion for the sport and a keen desire to share that passion to others. With that, came the idea of 'borak-borak'.

What does the term "Borak-Borak" actually mean?

"Borak-borak" is a Malaysian lingo that equates to the English word "chit-chat". The phrase is commonly used and has somewhat the power to identify one's identity as a Malaysian. BBF is passionate to 'chit-chat' about the happenings and events of floorball, first in Penang and then the other parts of Malaysia. With that in mind, Borak-Borak Floorball came into existence.

Who are we?

BBF comprises mainly of three suspects under the pseudonyms of Jose, Bendy and Spritzer. However, BBF has also taken in hired-for-free reporters in their effort to cover as many grounds as possible.

NOTE: BBF is not an official website to any organization or governing body. We are merely a group of passionate floorballers who seek to share this passion to others. We strive to be courteous, neutral and honest in our opinions, thoughts, reviews and analyses.

Our vision?

BBF sought to 'talk big' and 'talk much' about floorball. We hope to represent the floorball community in Penang as well as the nation, Malaysia, in the bigger picture. We want to be a voice for floorball in the present and future generation, a voice to be heard not for recognition but for the ultimate growth and development of floorball in Malaysia.

Player Rating: Ztec Griffins vs Ztec Phoenix

5 = world class
4 = superb
3 = good
2 = ok ok
1 = bad

Ztec Griffins:
Gk:
Leo Nard 4
Undisputedly the star of the night. Period. Keep it up!!

Defenders:
Gim Hoong 3
Blessed with tremendous pace and stamina, the boy took on the last man role like he played for ages. Bombarded front occasionally with his lighting runs and even join thee forwards up front after going 3-0 down.

Brandon Pereira 2
A decent debut. Content in staying back more and getting dirty while Gim Hong push forward. Interesting partnership.

Wayne Tan (Did not play enough to be rated)

Attackers:
Amos Lim 2
The engine room up front for Griffins. His tireless display around the court kept the team in the game. A talent to be mold like Gim Hong and Brandon. More games will do him good.

Dominic 3
Got sent off in the second period but came back like a man possessed, and gave the Phoenix back quite a hrad time. Let off a few scoring chances, notably a free hit which shaved the crossbar.

Daniel Boey 2

Jia Yen 3
Was fearless and went for every ball that was out there. Reminds Jose of a certain Spartan(ess).

Yuh Ting 2

Ruth Chua (Did not play enough to be rated)

Yi Min (Did not play enough to be rated)

Ztec Phoenix:
Gk:
Yung Ming 2
Barely warmed up after 40mins. Must be craving for some shot on goals. Next game maybe.

Defenders:
Jack Lee 2

Chern Harng 2

Teik Hong 2

Siu Keong 2

Attackers:

Adrian Koay 3
Other than the brace, the captain had a pretty decent game. More improvement is needed form him to secure the team a medal.

Samuel Ong 2

Danial 3
Cheeky forward with impressive Floorball sense. Although not in the score sheet, his positioning garner much praise from our pundit panel and the Mr. Edward Lim himself.

Kelvin Tan 2

Calvindav 2
Dubbed "Zlatan" for his array of stepovers with the floorball, the lanky forward was rather conservative in his tricks. Wasted a superb scoring opportunity as he held the ball too long.

Wei Jin 2
